The Center for Mindful Eating Webinar: Mindful Eating after Bariatric Surgery
Monday November 18, 2019. 12:00 EST

In recent years, more and more people worldwide have turned to bariatric surgery to treat medical problems like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and sleep apnea that are often attributed to weight.
Many people who seek bariatric surgery struggle with emotional eating, binge eating, body image distress, and other eating disorder symptoms that are not necessarily resolved by bariatric surgery. Mindful eating approaches can help those who are planning to undergo surgery or who have already undergone surgery, to develop a more balanced, peaceful relationship with food and eating.
In this webinar, we will briefly review bariatric surgery, the typical ways that bariatric surgery procedures impact eating, and how mindful eating skills and practices can be successfully adopted by people undergoing bariatric surgery.
*Please note that this webinar does not promote or advocate bariatric surgery. It is being offered in recognition that mindful eating teachers and clinicians sometimes have clients who have undergone this type of surgery.
Members - Free.
Non-Members - $10 without CE
Non-Members - $20 with CE
